ECOVERO™ DETAILS
100% EcoVero knitted jersey fabric (also known as Lyocell) trademarked to Lenzing then produced to STSC's specifics with our accredited manufacturer to meet higher than regular sustainable standards along our entire supply chain, from the forest to the fabric. GOTS accredited dyes.
HANDLE AND DRAPE.
In my opinion Lenzing's viscose fabrics all have a much "earthier" feel to it in comparison to other viscoses on the market, and in particular the ECOVERO is slightly warmer and more natural to the touch than TENCEL.This is a luxury viscose with 200gsm thickness and has good mechanical stretch and, in my opinion, will not require additional stretch which would require adding synthetic unsustainable materials.
SAMPLES. In keeping with our focus to cut down on our shipping carbon emissions, we encourage you to visit your local fabric store to feel viscose/lyocell instead of purchcasing Sample Books. In my opinion, and that of many other designers, this viscose has a much nicer and softer feel.
NOTE. if you are not using a viscose from a Certified foresty source such as this, and you cannot see or show the Accreditation then its highly likely that the viscose is made from sources that are causing mass deforestation, and in some cases, using endangered forests. Visit www.canopyplanet.org
In addition, Lenzing's yarn process is Closed Loop to capture and recycle 99.8% of its resources including water. It does not shed toxic synthetic microfibres and is naturally biodegradable.
