BANANA FIBRE THREAD MAKING PROJECT

The training will be given for one day per person @ the Cost Rs.1000/- and the certificate will be issued .The Cost of the machinery is Rs. 95.000/-

 

Upto 25 Kgs of fibre extraction can be done in one day.

Banana fibre mat weaving unit : 

A women can weave up to 15 Meters of Banana fibre mat per day. Its easy and simple to learn within a day. No power required and easy to operate Rs. 500/- can be earned as a Net profit per day.

These ecofriendly Mats are used in interior sector as wall blinds, window blinds, table mats and yoga mats etc. abudant market is available in Domestic and abroad. Apart from that we offer a buyback for end products.

Loan Facility :

This is a tiny house hold cottage industry especially for the women. Loans are available in Mudra Bank Scheme in All Nationalized/ Private/scheduled Banks.

BANANA FIBRE THREAD MAKING PROJECT

​

This is an innovation and a new technology were the banana bark [After Harvest] is teared into sheaths and dried in the sun light after then it is tied and kept in shade so that raw material lasts for 5 years without any damage.

 

Machinery : We have developed a easy and simplified unit, which consists of Calendaring Machinery/ Slicing Machinery/Twisting machinery with 4 spindles/Reeling machinery.

This Whole unit which gives an output of two ply thread 5000mts/shift, Consumes less power/ Easily operated by women/ Zero maintenance.

​

This machine will be useful for rural women folk and farmers were they can involve in this project and it will be an income generation activity particularly from Banana sheath an Agro waste.

 

RAW MATERIAL : India has about 5 lakh hectares of Banana cultivation only 10% of the Banana waste (Pseudo stems) is twisted as thread, mostly the thread is twisted by manual process, and the yield of thread is very low and this kind of manual process needs skilled labour.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS : The Dried banana bark sheath is used  for twisting thread. The sheath is inserted calendaring machine to straightening the dried sheath. Secondly the uniformed sheath is inserted in slicing machinery which is sliced according to the size of the thread.( .3 mm or .5 mm and single ply or double ply ).Next reeling process starts in a simple reeling device which is reeled in the cone.. Finally the thread will be twisted in the thread twister which consisits of 1.5HP POWER [MOTORIZED]

LABOUR : To operate this machinery, require minimum of four persons.

 

INVESTMENT OR CAPITAL : Banana Fiber thread twisting machinery with 8 spindles along with calendering machine, slicing machine and reeling machine costs Rs. 2.50.000 and working capital for this project cost Rs.1 lacs.

​

FINANCE : promotor’s contribution is 5% to start this business & the bank loan is 95%.

​

SUBSIDY : The Central Government of India gives 25%-35% subsidy for this project under PMEGP scheme(for Female entrepreneur) and 15% subsidy under UYEGP scheme. Our state govt. announces 25% subsidy for this business.
