I'm pleased to announce that STSC has now launched a Sustainable Textile Club in Germany.
The Clubs are created to try and minimise the barrier to market for many emerging designers worldwide who are interested in working with sustainable textiles plus reduce our shipping eco footprint.
Clubs are designed to allow them to collectively purchase low MOQs and share the purchasing power when buying STSC fabrics.
When purchasing fabrics, the Mills usually specify a Minimum Order Quantity that can often be very high, making it financially impossible for designers to purchase, plus if they did purchase too many metres, it would also be unsustainable with the massive waste of fabric. Currently we have Clubs in Australia, USA (general, based in LA), New York, New Zealand, Denmark, India, Germany, the Philippines and the UK. Membership is free via the Facebook groups and anyone is invited to join via @stscsustainabletextiles or via the website.
STSC regularly announce different Club Textile Batch Orders so Members can order and benefit from the price advantage of purchasing fabric in bulk price quantities, plus save on freight costs.
The Clubs also work as a conduit for people who are dedicated to helping support the environment through the fashion industry, and Members are encouraged to share knowledge, tips, ideas, applications and discoveries about these new, and often unexplored fabrics, plus information on sustainable practices.
